Studies have shown that swearing can help relieve your physical pain, like stubbing a toe or something. Now a new study shows that it'll help you out when you get your feelings hurt too.

Dr. Michael Philipp just put out a new study that suggests swearing will provide relief for anyone experiencing "short-term social distress." Like being excluded or fighting with a loved one.

He took 70 people and split them into two groups, then he tested them for feelings of social and physical pain. They were then randomly told to swear aloud or say a non-swear word.

"The results suggest that socially distressed participants who swore out loud experienced less social pain than those who did not," says Dr Philipp.

Following this logic, I can swear all day and not feel pain.
