Free Parking In Downtown Davenport During Red White and BOOM
If you're planning to celebrate Independence Day a little early at Red, White, & Boom this Friday, here's the biggest tip you need to know before you head downtown: parking is FREE!
When and Where Is The Free Parking?
From 5:00 p.m. until midnight on Friday, July 3, all three downtown Davenport parking ramps will offer free parking, making it easier (and cheaper) to enjoy one of the Quad Cities' biggest summer traditions.
What Is Red White & Boom?
The annual Red, White, & Boom celebration is free to attend and wraps up with a spectacular fireworks show beginning at 9:30 p.m. Fireworks will be launched from two barges on the Mississippi River between Davenport and Rock Island, perfectly synchronized to music broadcast live on 97X.
Before the sky lights up, there's plenty to do. Riverfront parks will be filled with food vendors, live music, family-friendly activities, and kid zones packed with games and entertainment. It's a great excuse to grab a lawn chair, spend the evening along the river, and celebrate America's birthday with thousands of your neighbors.
Where Can I See The Fireworks?
Some of the best places to watch the fireworks include LeClaire Park, Modern Woodmen Park, and Schwiebert Riverfront Park.
One thing to keep in mind: expect heavy traffic. Organizers are asking everyone to be patient and allow extra time both getting into downtown and leaving after the fireworks end. With thousands of people expected to attend, roads around the riverfront will be busy, and several streets will be closed throughout the evening.
So here's your game plan: arrive early, park for free, enjoy the festivities, and be prepared for a little extra traffic on the way home. A little planning will make for a much smoother and more enjoyable night celebrating the Fourth of July in the Quad Cities.
