Man Pretends To Be Undercover Agent To Get Discount Food At Wendy

Everyone loves a good discount, especially when it's a perk through a job. For example, Wendys officers a standing 20% discount to all active-duty military, police, and SAR operators who are buying on an individual basis.

I guess one Florida Man wanted that 20% discount so bad that he pretended to be law enforcement.

Police were called to a Wendy's location in Bunnell Florida last Monday, they were informed a customer was arguing with the staff.

57-year-old David Stover was demanding a law enforcement discount and started threatening to report staff to corporate for not giving it to him. (Bold statement for a guy whos not actually a cop)

Stover was a regular customer at this Wendy's for the past two years. He had a friend who was a cashier there, so he would always get a discount. After the worker left, Stover was left paying full price. He decided to tell the workers he was an undercover Drug Enforcement Administration agent, so he could obtain a 20% discount. When staff asked for proof, Stover would flash them a fake DEA badge.

Bunnell Police Department

Investigators said Stover denied ever claiming to be a DEA agent, but he did admit to carrying a concealed carry permit badge, which he claimed he showed the employees because they asked to see it.

Stover faces a charge of impersonating a law enforcement officer. Falsely impersonating a federal officer or employee of the United States is a federal crime punishable by a fine or up to three years of imprisonment.
