Iowa Man Takes Train Hobby to the Next Level

It's always cool to see somebody find a hobby that they really enjoy and just take it as far as they can. Ralph Gast did just that when his model trains weren't quite enough.

The Ackley, Iowa man has a 35-ton 1914 Rock Island Caboose in his backyard. It took a crane to drop the 100-year-old train car behind his house and Ralph spent years remodeling it and fixing it up. Now Ralph uses the caboose to house his H.O. scale layouts.
