23-year-old Anthony Clark saw a car parked on the side of the road in southern Oregon on Saturday and even though a few cops were standing right by it, waiting for it to get towed, he decided to hop in and steal it.

He got into a high-speed chase with some other cops, which included him busting through chain link fences, going the wrong way down a bunch of different roads, and running over two sets of spike strips.

The cops caught him when he got out of the car, ran into a trailer park, and tried to steal a different car.

Why did he do it? Anthony told police he'd taken LSD and didn't realize it was real life, he thought he was playing the video game "Grand Theft Auto".

Unfortunately for him, "I thought life was a video game" isn't really an excuse, so he was arrested on several charges, including driving under the influence, car theft, eluding, and reckless endangerment.
