Bertha Vickers will turn 100-years-old on January 10th and just a few days ago she got a deer kill on a hunting trip. To her it was just another day.

"I don't know why everybody is making such a big deal about it," she told the Clarion Ledger. "If I'd killed a big buck I could see it, but it was just a doe."

On January 5th Bertha headed out with her .243 Winchester rifle and bagged the deer just a few miles from her home. She's been hunting and shooting all her life.

On the eve of her 100th birthday, she still mows her own yard, cooks, and maintains a garden. "Just to get to go and the thrill of catching or killing something is so exciting. I'm going to do just what I want to do.”
