Drunk Florida Man Calls 911 to Report That His Wife is a Black Widow

61-year-old William Rutger from Tarpon Springs, Florida called 911 not once, but twice earlier this week to report that his wife was a black widow spider.

At about 1:30AM on Tuesday, Rutger called for the first time to tell the operator that he was married to an arachnid. He also wanted to have her admitted for an involuntary mental examination.

The caller, according to a responding officer, was reportedly slurring his words and appeared intoxicated. The officer had to tell Rutger that 911 was for emergencies only.

A couple hours later, after 3AM, Rutger called 911 again. He again told the dispatcher that his wife was a black widow.

Rutger was then arrested and charged with misusing the 911 system.
