Boy Sells His Pokémon Cards to Fund Treatment for Sick Puppy

How far would you go to save your dog?

Bryson Kliemann is a diehard Pokémon fan, but he's an even bigger fan of his dog.

When Bryson was organizing his prized Pokémon cards, he noticed his puppy, Bruce, had fallen sick. His mom, Kimberly Woodruff, rushed the dog to the vet, where he was diagnosed with parvo, a highly contagious dog virus.

"He wasn't coming out of his cage and being the normal puppy he usually is," Woodruff said. "He was very lethargic, just not doing good."

Bruce's treatment was going to cost around $700, which was a price that they couldn't afford to pay for a dog they didn't want to lose.

"It made me kind of sad because usually my brother and sister play together and I don't have anybody to play with. So, I usually play with him," Bryson said.

Aware of his parent's financial situation, Bryson decided to take his love for his dog and his passion for Pokémon into his own hands.

"While I'm in school, I get a text message with a picture of him and a sign on the side of the road selling Pokémon cards," Woodruff said.

"I know everybody likes Pokémon cards so I just decided to sell them," Bryson said.

Bryson shared the photo to Facebook and made a GoFundMe with a goal of $800, and the donations quickly racked up to $1,900.

"I was so happy because I really wanted to get him back," Bryson said.

Bruce is still undergoing treatment but is stronger every day.
