While the testing phases of a product are happening, there are bound to be a few mishaps, and a few mishaps we have seen with those Waymo self driving cars.

A new clip is going viral showing the latest little "bug" in the system, when one of the Waymos drove onto a light rail train track - and the passenger had to jump out.

The car slowed to a stop on the tracks just as an oncoming light rail train rolled up, and the passenger can be seen hopping out of the car and making a quick, clean escape.

That wasn't the end of the trip though, it continued to roll down the tracks alongside an oncoming train, just wandering.

Phoenix police say they got a call about the situation, but by the time officers showed up, the Waymo had already left the scene. There luckily weren't any disruptions to the light rail services, which were also just added this year, which might make sense why the car was confused.

The Advanced Technology Professor at Arizona State University talked to TMZ, and told them that Waymos just don't quite have the human-level ability to navigate themselves out of a bad situation, and all these hiccups are just part of the learning process.

He still maintains that they're safer than having a human driver, because they can't get distracted.
