Be A Kid Again And Compete For The Gold In The Backyard Classic

We all have fond memories of being in the backyard, or grandma's backyard, playing wiffle ball with the neighbor kids and cousins. It was awesome being the oldest, because you'd get up and you'd see everyone move way back so they could catch your hits, but they usually ended up in the neighbor's yard for a "homerun." An event coming up in the Quad Cities will let you relive your glory days.

The Backyard Classic on August 22nd is bringing the Quad Cities together for a full day of competition, fun, food, and giving back.

Whether you're someone who excels at bags, wiffle ball, or bucket golf, throw a team together and play for the big money, and raising money for Autistic & Loved and Uncommon Valor.

Wiffle Ball Tournament

You'll need somewhere between 5-10 players to compete in a 16 team bracket. Players have to be 10 years old or older, and you'll be able to get in for the $700 prize. 2nd place will win $200.

Registration is $150 a team.

Bags Tournament

There's a 2v2 double-elimination bags tournament, with the first round starting at noon. $75 entry per team, with the top two teams taking home the prize money. First place wins $300, second place wins $100.

Bucket Golf

If you're weirdly good at bucket golf, you can finally prove your family wrong and make some money. There's a bucket golf tournament happening all day long, playing through 9 hole. It's $10 entry for individuals, $25 entry for doubles. First place wins $100 + some swag.

Home Run Derby

$5 buys you into the home run derby, and the winner will receive $75 and a "Home Run King" Chain.

It's all going down on August 22nd, along with local food vendors, coffee and energy truck, raffles and giveaways, as well as music and entertainment.
