Chestnut Mountain is known for skiing, but they have a bunch of summer activities, too.
Segway tours, zip line, bike rides, river cruises and the Alpine slide. It’s one of those things right in our “backyard” that I’ve always wanted to do but never got around to doing until Saturday.

Even though the weather was perfect, the lines were pretty much non-existent. The only exception would be the Segway tours which were booked in advance and sold out.  (Next weekend will probably be perfect for the fall colors and as of Sunday, they still had a few spaces available for both Saturday and Sunday).

Also, we made a quick stop in Downtown Galena. While Dwyer is the real beer fan, I also LOVE a good craft beer. (Ok...full disclosure: craft ROOT beer.) In Galena there’s a little shop called Root Beer Revelry, and it's stocked with obscure bottled root beers and a handful on tap. Remember Dog n Suds? Until Saturday, I had no clue that they bottle the “World’s Creamiest Root  Beer”. And Point Beer brews a root beer? Yep!
