If you've rewatched The Sopranos during the last year, you've probably wondered how Tony got to the position he was in. Sure, we know what's said in the series, but what was the real story? We might finally have some answers, after 14 years.

The Many Saints of Newark is a prequel of the series, following the early life of Tony Soprano, was apparently in the midst of filming when the COVID-19 pandemic forcibly shutdown production. Now, that filming is able to resume, the movie's release date has been set to open on September 24, 2021.

Director Alan Taylor is working with original show writers David Chase and Lawrence Konner to create the film.

The movie follows the DiMeo crime family as they navigate what's known as "The Unrest of '83" as the family battled for power, leading to the arrest of iconic members of the crime family like Feech La Manna.

We all know that the role of Tony Soprano can't be played by just anyone, which is why David Chase has called upon Michael Gandolfini, James' lookalike son.

He looks like a young James Gandolfini, I mean look at this picture of him from a couple of years ago:
