Tennessee Woman Arrested After Stabbing Her Family On Thanksgiving
A Thanksgiving gathering in Memphis ended in violence after a family dispute led to a stabbing, leaving a mother and her grandson injured.
Memphis Woman Arrested After Thanksgiving Family Stabbing Incident
Lachunda Johnson, 55, was taken into custody following the altercation, which took place at a home in South Memphis. According to police, the situation escalated after an argument broke out between Johnson and her daughter when Johnson allegedly pushed her grandson.
As the argument intensified, Johnson reportedly retrieved a knife from the kitchen and attacked her daughter, causing a cut to her hand. When her grandson intervened, he also suffered a stab wound to his hand near the thumb.
Police Arrive On Scene
Police said three other children were present but were not hurt during the incident.
Officers located Johnson later that evening in the Cazassa Road area, where she was arrested without incident. Authorities believe Johnson was intoxicated at the time of the attack.
Charged And Held
She has been charged with aggravated assault and domestic assault and is currently being held at Jail East. No bond has been set as of this report.
Both victims sustained minor injuries, and the investigation remains ongoing. Residents in the community have expressed shock over the incident, particularly given the timing on Thanksgiving Day.
