A sixth-grade teacher in Phoenix got arrested for exposing himself in class while peeing into a can.

Students Report Shocking Incident to School Officials

A sixth-grade teacher at a Phoenix-area elementary school is facing criminal charges after allegedly urinating into a can in front of his students, unintentionally exposing himself in the process.

Authorities have charged Curt Hinton, 52, with four counts of indecent exposure following the incident, which occurred Tuesday at Wilson Elementary School.

According to court documents, three students reported the disturbing incident to the school principal. The students told both the principal and responding officers that they initially heard an unusual noise resembling falling water. When they looked toward their teacher, they saw Hinton urinating into a container at his desk, with his genitals visible.

Classroom Setup Left No Privacy

Investigators noted that Hinton’s desk was not enclosed, meaning students seated in the classroom had a clear line of sight to his lower body. Given the classroom’s layout, authorities confirmed that multiple students could have witnessed the act.
Hinton was taken into custody and brought to Phoenix police headquarters for questioning.

Teacher Claims It Was a Misjudgment

During his interview with police, Hinton admitted to urinating into a white can but insisted he had attempted to cover himself and believed no students could see him. He explained that he was new to the school and unsure of how to request a break to use the restroom.

Hinton further stated that he made the decision to relieve himself in the classroom based on his past military experience, where he had been trained to urinate in containers when unable to leave his post.

Authorities Say Teacher Acknowledged Mistake

Despite his explanation, authorities confirmed that Hinton recognized his actions were inappropriate. He reportedly admitted that it was a lapse in judgment and emphasized that he had never done anything like this before.

The case remains under investigation, and school officials have not yet released a statement regarding Hinton’s employment status.
