Florida Man Accused of Filming Under Girl’s Dress at Church
A 21-year-old man from Davie appeared in court Tuesday to face a digital voyeurism charge. The arraignment follows an incident at a Pembroke Pines church where he was accused of filming underneath a young girl’s dress.
Witnesses Report Disturbing Incident
The allegations stem from a November 23 gathering at Boulevard Bible Chapel. According to police reports, a juvenile witness spotted Daniel James Ducanis passing behind the victim with his phone out.
“As he passed by, I noticed out of the corner of my eye, he had his phone under her skirt,” the witness stated in the report. Witnesses believe Ducanis recorded the victim three times, and the victim reportedly noticed the recording in progress during one instance.
Confrontation and Evidence
The victim's brother confronted Ducanis after being alerted to the situation. While Ducanis initially denied the claims, the brother told detectives he had earlier seen Ducanis’ phone on a video setting, displaying footage of what appeared to be the church floor.
Authorities seized the suspect's phone in early December. While an initial search yielded no footage, Ducanis later contacted investigators to change his story.
Confession and Legal Proceedings
Police say Ducanis admitted to the filming via email but claimed he had already scrubbed the evidence. He told detectives that he "deleted all of the videos" and insisted he did not share them with anyone else.
Ducanis was arrested on December 10 after arriving at the police station to discuss the case. He is currently out on bond while awaiting trial.
