Florida Woman Arrested After Feces Vandalism Through Neighborhood
Police in Altamonte Springs, Florida have arrested a woman for vandalizing a neighborhood for about a week straight, and it's not a type of vandalism you want to ever find in your neighborhood.
Investigators with the Altamonte Springs Police Department said 50-year-old Alexis Weber was taken into custody Tuesday morning on charges of criminal mischief after being linked to multiple incidents.
The people living in the neighborhood say the incidents have been going on for about a week, with homeowners discovering what appeared to be feces on vehicles, mailboxes and in yards.
Ivette Gomez told the local news station her family was the first to contact the authorities last Thursday after finding feces smeared on her husband's work van.
“My husband texted me that his work van is full of feces,” Gomez said. “I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, there is poop on my van,’ and I just couldn’t believe it.”
Gomez said she provided investigators with security camera footage that shows a person matching Weber's description stopping near the work van. She said she's seen Weber exercising through the neighborhood often.
“When I look back through my cameras, guess what, that is she,” Gomez said.
Residents reported to police that they found feces on the near a shared food pantry in the neighborhood this past weekend.
“Crap all over,” one resident said. “Whoever did this is probably a disgusting person and I was very shocked.”
When a detective went by Ivette Gomez's house to talk to her, he pulled up to her defecating in her own front yard, so the officer arrested her.
