Strip Club Robbed of $22K in 1 Dollar Bills, Manager Says

This is why we can't have nice things, and by nice things, I mean strippers. We can't have strippers because idiots like this take their hard-earned money.

Every man knows you should never leave the strip club with more money than you came with. The only thing you should be leaving the club with is the bartender's fake number and half a stiffy.

Obviously, this guy did not know the unwritten rule because he left the club with $22,000 in singles, and no, he did not earn that by dancing. He stole it.

Police in Rhode Island are investigating a man that robbed a Providence strip club at gunpoint Monday afternoon. The strip club is the Cadillac Lounge. (We know you wanna view the website photos)

Manager Ed Imondi was in his office counting money before the strip club opened. The gunman walked into the office and pointed the gun at Imondi's head.

“At first, I thought it was a joke,” Imondi recalled. “He said, ‘This is a robbery.’ I said, ‘What?’ and he said, ‘I’m going to rob the place.'”

In the office were two safes, one of them open, and $3,500 dollars in Imondi's hand. The robber took the three thousand from his hand, but not the money in the open safe. He demanded the second safe to be opened which contained $22,000 in singles.

“He took all the ones, I could hear him stacking them into the big bag he had. Obviously, he knew we had a lot of money in there. He loaded up the bag and said, ‘That’s it, don’t turn around. I’m leaving.'”

The robber then exited the club through the backdoor, hopped a fence, and ran across the nearby train tracks. Imondi and the owner Dick Shappy believe this was an inside job, as the robber knew the layout of the building.

(I find it funny that the owner of the Strip club has the name Dick Shappy)

Imondi said, “Why would you not care about the safe that I already have open? You can see there’s money in there. He said, ‘No, not that safe. I want the money that’s in that one.’ … What does that tell you? Somebody knows something here.”

Police found a person of interest at a nearby Walgreens a few hours after the robbery. So far no charges have been filed.
