Surveillance Footage Tells the Story

According to arrest records, store security footage showed Laforge discreetly opening packaging in the adult health section before walking out of the store with the items. Among the stolen goods were a $31 “tush toy” and a $15 “oral stroker.” Police also noted a $3.98 Reese’s peanut butter ice cream as part of the stolen haul.

Felony Charges Due to Prior Arrests

Ordinarily, thefts under $1,000 would be considered misdemeanors in Florida. However, due to Laforge’s extensive history of prior theft convictions, the charges have been elevated to felonies. He is currently being held on a $10,000 bond while the case moves forward.

Authorities did not indicate whether the stolen adult products were intended for personal use or resale. Still, given that the items were taken out of their original packaging, any attempt to resell them would likely be unsuccessful.

Not Your Average Shoplifting Case

While shoplifting is not uncommon, this particular case stands out due to the unusual nature of the stolen items. The police report details a list of intimate products, highlighting the wide range of merchandise available at large retailers like Walmart, some of which may surprise regular shoppers.

As the investigation continues, Laforge awaits a court appearance to answer to the upgraded felony theft charges.
