Meet Douglas Tait, Who Played 2 of the Most Iconic Monsters Ever
Happy Friday the 13th-on the only Friday the 13th of 2022, by the way.
There is no better way to celebrate the day than to talk with a man who donned, not only the Jason Vorhees hockey mask in Freddy vs Jason, but also the Michael Meyers mask in Halloween Kills among many more incredible creatures. Want to have a chat with this legend?
You can meet Jason on Friday the 13th, or if you already have superstitious plans today, you can go Saturday May 14.
Actor Douglas Tait will be signing autographs and taking pictures at Midwest Monster Fest this weekend at the Rock Island County Fairgrounds...and yes, he'll be appearing as Jason! You can talk to Jason today, Friday, May 13 or Saturday, May 14.
What's It Like Playing These Creatures?
I was lucky enough to talk with Douglas, who was already enjoying his first stop in the Quad Cities. In this conversation, we discussed what it’s like for an actor to build a persona around a character that has no words. From the iconic monsters we grew up with, to the aliens of Star Trek and more!
Even the Sasquatch in those hilarious Jack's Links beef jerky commercials.
First Horror Movie
We talked about his first horror movie and why getting to play in Halloween Kills was so special to him. When he was younger, his parents bought a VCR that had a Halloween II tape still in it. He watched it all the time even though he was 9 years old at the time and it scared the hell out of him.
Freddy vs Jason
My favorite horror flick of all time is A Nightmare on Elm Street. We talked about what it was like to work with Robert Englund in Freddy vs Jason and how he was able to connect with him as they both got their makeup done. He's even going to bring the Freddy Head for photo ops!
