Bettendorf Halloween Parade Is October 24

The annual Halloween Parade is set for Saturday, October 24, at 6:30 p.m.

The parade will begin at 18th Street near Bettendorf Middle School’s north parking lot. The procession will travel along 18th Street, turn right onto Spruce Hills Drive, then right onto Middle Road before ending in the school’s south parking lot.

Road closures are expected to begin around 6:15 p.m. Roads will reopen as the parade moves through the major intersections.

There is no rain date for this event. Anyone who wants to participate in the parade must register by October 19.

Trick-or-Treating Is October 31

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, giving Bettendorf families plenty of time to get dressed up and hit the neighborhood streets.

Official trick-or-treating hours in Bettendorf will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 31.

Whether you're taking the kids door-to-door or handing out candy at home, that's the time to expect plenty of Halloween activity around town.

The Great Pumpkin Drop Returns November 7

Once Halloween is over, there's still one more fall tradition to enjoy.

The Great Pumpkin Drop will take place Saturday, November 7, at 11 a.m. at the Family Museum, located at 2900 Learning Campus Drive.

The event gives families a fun way to get rid of their leftover pumpkins and jack-o'-lanterns. Collected pumpkins will be dropped over the ledge at the Family Museum and smashed below.

Pumpkin collection will take place in the Great Hall from 9 to 10:45 a.m.
