
Louisiana Man Arrested After Student Brings Crack Cocaine to Elementary School
A Louisiana man is facing multiple drug charges after a student at a Farmerville elementary school turned in a bottle containing what appeared to be crack cocaine. School staff immediately notified the on-campus resource officer, who contacted the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office. Deputies later learned that two children had handled the bottle before bringing it to the office.
Children Identify Suspected Owner
Deputies interviewed the students, who provided information linking the substance to an adult. During the investigation, authorities identified two separate residences where they believed more illegal drugs might be located.
Large Amount of Drugs Found at Two Homes
Search warrants were issued for both properties. According to deputies, the searches uncovered nearly 900 suspected ecstasy pills, more than 30 suspected crack rocks, cocaine, marijuana, Xanax, and equipment commonly used to package and distribute narcotics.
Suspect Charged With Drug Crimes and Child Cruelty
Deputies arrested 30-year-old Japrinceton Jermaine Island on several drug-related charges, along with two counts of child cruelty. His bond was set at $160,000.
