The future of rock in the Quad Cities is in good hands.  With all the live music venues, area bands, schools, and programs to teach the next generation of rock, we will continue to watch the music scene in the Quad Cities grow.

A great way to enjoy some of these musicians of the future is happening now thanks to the QC Rock Academy and their free Summer Kickoff Concert at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island.

For over a decade, the QC Rock Academy has been a place for kids to learn how to play and love music.  They teach individual students and have built bands that learn and grow together taking their music past the academy.

A gem of a park in the Quad Cities.  Schwiebert Riverfront Park is located on 1st and 17th Street in Rock Island with plenty of parking at the park or across the street between 17th and 18th.

The park has a perfect bandshell and grass to enjoy the show. Plus, playground equipment is on the other side of the park for the little ones to burn some energy.

Bring a lawnchair or a blanket or just lay in the grass to enjoy the evening.  Also, keep an eye on the weather.  Whatever KWQC says the temps will be, minus 5 degrees by the river.  So maybe toss a hoodie in the car.
