Iowa Ranks in the Top 10 States to Raise a Family

A new study ranked all 50 states from the best place to raise a family to the worst. The best state for your family in 2018 is Massachusetts.

The rankings are based on 42 different factors, including things like the quality of schools, children's hospitals and pediatricians, childcare costs, crime rates, housing prices, attractions, and other families with young children.

They did not include weather, as you'll see from the results. The top 10 states are:

1. Massachusetts
2. Minnesota
3. New Hampshire
4. North Dakota
5. Vermont
6. Wisconsin
7. New York
8. Iowa
9. Nebraska
10. California

Illinois missed out on a Top 10 spot and ranked at #15. The worst states are New Mexico, Mississippi, and Alabama.
