Child Locked in Houston Laundromat Dryer as Punishment: Three Adults Arrested
Authorities in Houston, Texas, arrested three adults after a six-year-old boy was reportedly locked in a laundromat dryer as punishment for losing a bag of chips. Witnesses, disturbed by the scene, called police, leading to a dramatic rescue and subsequent arrests.
The Incident at Hi Tek Washateria
The event unfolded on November 11 at Hi Tek Washateria, where the boy was at the laundromat with three adults. According to police, the situation escalated when the child became upset after misplacing a bag of chips.
In response, 18-year-old Haven Duncan allegedly put the boy inside a dryer and locked the door. Two others, 19-year-old Life Ford and 20-year-old Jaqory Gill, reportedly refused to let the boy out, insisting he find the chips first. Witnesses said the boy remained locked in the dryer for at least five minutes, visibly upset, until bystanders intervened by calling 911.

Police Intervention and Rescue
When officers arrived, they found the child crying and trembling inside the dryer. Authorities quickly freed him and had medical personnel check his condition. Thankfully, the boy was not physically harmed and was later released to a guardian.
However, the situation escalated when police attempted to detain the three adults involved. Gill tried to flee on foot but was eventually captured. During the chase, Ford allegedly obstructed a deputy by pushing him, trying to give Gill time to escape.
Arrests and Charges
Duncan was taken into custody, and officers discovered he had a loaded firearm on him at the time of his arrest. He now faces a charge of Child Endangerment and is being held in Harris County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
Gill was charged with Evading Arrest on Foot, and Ford was charged with Interfering with the Duties of a Public Servant. Both have since been released after posting bond.
