Florida Women Arrested In 3AM Glitter Attack
I have one rule in my house. ONE. RULE.
NO GLITTER.
It's the herpes of the craft world. Once you get it, you never totally get rid of it.
Investigators in Clearwater, Florida say 29-year-old Sarah Franks and 27-year-old Kaitlin O'Donovan arrived at a residence belonging to Jacob Colon. The two began arguing with Colon, who was standing on his balcony.
According to officials, Franks and Donovan each threw a glitter container at Colon, hitting him “in the upper torso and head.” The arrest affidavit does not say what the nature of the argument was, or what the relationship between the parties is, but it's pretty safe to assume.
After they pelted the guy, Franks climbed over the fence and entered his apartment, where she “engaged the victim again by throwing more containers of glitter at him,” cops say.
Once inside, O'Donovan threw other containers of glitter at the victim, according to the affidavit. It appears that Kaitlin O'Donovan and Sarah Franks are roommates, sharing an apartment about two miles away.
After the glitter attack was over, Franks allegedly kicked a window in Colon's residence until it broke. The pair then drove away from the apartment complex.
Because Colon was able to identify his attackers, police quickly arrested Franks and O'Donovan around an hour after the attack.
The getaway car was tracked right to the duo's apartment. The car "was still warm to the touch and glitter was observed on the inside of the vehicle,” Officer Matthew High wrote.
Franks and O'Donovan were arrested on felony charges of assault or battery. Franks was also charged with criminal mischief for allegedly breaking the window at Colon's home.
On Monday, Franks bonded out of the jail after posting a $75,250 bond. O'Donovan remains in custody at the Pinellas County lockup. A judge has ordered both women to have no contact with Colon.
