Florida Woman Wanted After Smashing A Truck She Thought Was Her Ex Boyfriend’s
Authorities are searching for a 55-year-old Bonita Springs woman after she violated her probation in a case that began with a violent attack on the wrong vehicle.
Truck Attack Leads to Arrest
Deputies say Drem Benjamin showed up at a Lee County home and used a crowbar to smash up a truck she thought belonged to her unfaithful ex-boyfriend. Instead, the truck belonged to someone else, leaving the actual owner with thousands of dollars in damages.
Benjamin was arrested following the attack and spent a night in jail. She later admitted guilt in court and was placed on 60 months of probation as part of her sentencing.
Probation Violated, Warrant Issued
Court records show Benjamin has since violated the conditions of her probation. As a result, a new warrant has been issued for her arrest. Authorities have not released details about the specific violation, but confirmed she failed to comply with the terms set by the court.
Benjamin’s legal troubles extend beyond this case. She has three prior arrests on her record, including drug-related charges and additional probation violations.
Description and How to Help
Investigators say Benjamin is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs around 140 pounds, and was last known to be living in Bonita Springs.
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in locating her. Anyone with information can call 800-780-TIPS (8477), use the P3 app, or submit a tip on the Crime Stoppers website.
