A Florida man in a Dalmatian onesie escaped officers with one hand cuffed after a traffic stop.  He was caught the following day.

High-Speed Chase Ends in Crash

A late-night traffic stop took a bizarre turn when a Florida man, dressed in a Dalmatian-print onesie, led troopers on a reckless chase before escaping with one hand still in cuffs.

Struggle with Troopers and Daring Escape

When officers caught up to Devereaux, they deployed a taser, bringing him to the ground. However, he fought back, wrestling with an officer in the roadway. Despite being partially restrained with one handcuff, he managed to break free and made a run for it—disappearing into a wooded area near his home on Girard Road.

With backup arriving, troopers released a K9 unit, which quickly tracked his scent to a nearby house. There, officers encountered Devereaux’s girlfriend, who allegedly told them she did not want him—or anyone else—inside because there were drugs in the home and she didn’t want to be arrested.

Captured the Next Day with a List of Charges

Authorities obtained an arrest warrant and returned the following morning, successfully taking Devereaux into custody. He now faces multiple charges, including reckless driving, fleeing law enforcement, resisting arrest with violence, assaulting an officer, and possession of methamphetamine.

Devereaux’s brief, one-handed escape attempt may have bought him a few extra hours of freedom, but it ultimately ended with him behind bars.
