Florida Man Faces New Charges After Series of Church Burglaries
A 20-year-old Pensacola man, Jeremy Lang, who was arrested last week for breaking into a local church, is now facing additional charges for five more church burglaries, according to an update from Pensacola Police.
Pensacola Man Faces New Charges in Series of Church Break-ins
Lang now faces:
- Five additional charges of church burglary
- Five charges of criminal mischief
- Three charges of larceny
- One charge of motor vehicle burglary
Last Tuesday, Lang was initially arrested on charges of burglary, drug possession, obstructing justice, possession of a firearm, and possession of burglary tools.
A String Of Break-Ins
According to police, seven church break-ins were reported between September 24 and October 12 in the area around Woodland Avenue, 9th Avenue, MLK Drive, and North Davis Highway. Investigators have since connected Lang to these incidents.
Authorities also searched Lang’s cell phone, uncovering searches such as:
- “How to cut a shirt into a mask?”
- “Where do churches keep money?”
- “Do churches have safes?”
- “Events where you raise money in Pensacola.”
Lang remains in custody at the Escambia County Jail without bond as the investigation continues. Local officials encourage anyone with information to come forward.
