Florida Man Arrested Naked After Multiple Hit-And-Run Crashes
In Flagler County, Florida, 22-year-old Stephen Peterson of Port Orange was apprehended after a string of hit-and-run incidents, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.
Hits And Runs
The man was only wearing socks and a "small covering wrapped around his waist" during the ordeal. A speeding SUV that struck multiple vehicles on Old Kings Road caught the attention of law enforcement officials, and they attempted to pull over the driver. The driver, Peterson, refused to stop the vehicle.
Eventually, Peterson entered the grounds of Old Kings Elementary School, driving around the running track before exiting onto Old Kings Road again. He drove into the Flagler County landfill and the area surrounding it, which forced the police to set up a perimeter.
The police located the vehicle and asked Peterson and his passenger to leave the vehicle numerous times, but they had to extract the duo from the car when they did not comply.
Sheriff Rick Staly was astounded by the circumstances of the arrest and claimed that Peterson endangered not only the passengers in his vehicle but also children who might have been playing on the running track.
Charges
The naked driver is being charged with several offenses, including fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of a crash with property or vehicle damage, resisting an officer without violence, and trespassing on school grounds.
His passenger is being charged with trespassing on school grounds, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
