Driver Who Smoked Weed, Parked Car In Middle of Road Arrested for Meth
There's a time and place for everything and as always, the middle of the road is not the place, and when it comes to hard drugs - there isn't a time.
Police in Van Buren County, Michigan happened upon a car sitting in the middle of the road, parked, and conducted a traffic stop. The weird part was that it was at 12:15 pm - lunchtime.
Mind you, the car was parked in the middle of the road, and the guy in the driver's seat rolled his window down and asked officers why he was being pulled over. So obviously, they knew something was up.
Detectives told the man that he wasn't allowed to park in the middle of a county roadway. According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, the driver then responded by telling the officers that he had smoked some marijuana and thought he was being followed.
Then, he went a step further in his admission to the officers, and told them that he had some meth in the car.
So, detectives had him step out of the vehicle, and they searched it for meth. Sure enough, the officers turned up 35 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. 35 grams of methamphetamine is, of course, 35 grams more than the legal limit of 0 grams.
Detectives interviewed the man and told him they would seek a warrant for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.
