Davenport’s Truck-Eating Bridge Just Had Another Meal
Once again, the truck-eating low-clearance bridge in Davenport has lived up to its notorious reputation.
Davenport, Iowa
It seems no matter how many warning signs or flashing lights are installed, this railroad bridge at 5th & Brady/Harrison cannot resist feasting on unsuspecting trucks. Davenport will forever be known for this infamous feature that leaves truck drivers quaking in their boots.
Truck Eating Bridge
Early Monday morning, on October 16th, a Semi Truck was going North on Brady Street when it was "eaten" by the Davenport bridge.
No injuries were reported, except for the top of the truck... and maybe the truck driver's pride.
It's no surprise that the bridge has claimed another victim in the form of a truck. This unfortunate incident marks one of several instances in the past years where trucks have been devoured by the hungry structure.
To provide context, here are some of the other occurrences that have taken place since 2021.
