Company That Supplies 80% of Lacquer for Vinyl Records Destroyed in Massive Fire
The vinyl industry is booming currently, as hipsters and 60-somethings start to blow the dust off the basement collection, as well as paying upwards of $40 for a present day album.
Only two companies in the world supply the lacquer used for making the discs. The factory in Banning, CA caught fire in a three alarm fire last Thursday.
The Apollo Masters factory was completely destroyed. That location is responsible for 80% of the lacquer discs globally.
