Beginning The Investigation

The investigation began on December 14 after deputies responded to the theft at the school. Utilizing security footage from the school and surrounding businesses, a white Toyota Tacoma was identified as a vehicle of interest.

On Monday, the suspect vehicle was spotted near Pine Avenue and Mesa Oak Avenue. During the subsequent traffic stop, deputies discovered multiple fire hydrants in the truck bed.

The next day, a search warrant was executed at Cube's residence on Texas Street in Pomona. Evidence discovered at his home included materials related to the dismantling of fire hydrants.

Following the search, Cube was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga on grand theft charges. He has since been released and is awaiting a court date.

In addition to the Chino Hills High School incident, detectives are also investigating a similar theft at a Chino Hills shopping center in October. Cube is suspected of involvement in several similar thefts throughout Southern California.
