California Man Known as “Butt Sniffer” Arrested Again at Local Walgreens

A Burbank man with a disturbing history of inappropriate behavior is back behind bars after allegedly sniffing a woman inside a Walgreens store late Thursday night.

Repeat Offender Taken Into Custody

According to Burbank police, 38-year-old Calese Crowder—already well known to officers and even referred to as the “Butt Sniffer”—was spotted by employees inside the store shortly before 11 p.m. The workers, familiar with his past behavior, quickly reported the incident.

When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim and gathered details. Authorities said they already knew where to locate Crowder and were able to arrest him nearby without any struggle.

History of Similar Incidents

This is not Crowder’s first arrest for similar conduct. Just last month, on July 22, he was taken into custody after police said he harassed a woman at the Nordstrom Rack located on Victory Place in Burbank.

In that case, officers reviewed store surveillance footage showing Crowder following a female shopper, crouching near her, and engaging in lewd behavior by sniffing her buttocks. The disturbing incident led to his arrest at the time, but it appears the behavior has continued.

Long Record of Offenses

Police said Crowder is a registered sex offender currently on parole. His criminal record includes a series of related cases in both Glendale and Burbank, with incidents dating back to at least 2021.

Authorities are concerned there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
