California Woman Says Amazon Driver Took Her Cat From the Front Porch
A California woman says an Amazon delivery driver dropped off a package at her home last week — and then took her cat. The incident was captured on her Ring doorbell camera, showing the driver placing the package on the porch, snapping a delivery photo, and then approaching the cat, named Piper.
At first, it appears the driver is simply petting the cat. Seconds later, the footage shows the person grabbing Piper by the scruff of the neck and carrying the cat back to the delivery vehicle while the cat squirms and meows.
Was It a Mistake or Something Else?
The woman believes her cat was taken without permission. While it’s possible the driver thought Piper was a stray and was trying to “HELP,” the owner says the cat was on the edge of her front porch on a suburban street, making it strange to assume the animal didn’t have a home. She also says the cat was “NOT” handled gently in the video.
It’s unclear whether Piper was wearing a collar or had a microchip at the time.
Amazon and Police Response
The woman reported the incident to Amazon, which told her they are investigating and that they know who the driver was, but have not yet contacted them. Nearly a week later, she says she has not received an update.
She also contacted the police, but was told it could be weeks or months before the case is reviewed.
Waiting for Answers
The woman says she will share updates on Instagram or TikTok if she hears back. While there may be two sides to the story, she questions why someone who was “ACTUALLY” concerned wouldn’t simply knock on the door — and how seeing a cat outside for seconds means it needs to be “saved.”
