The beer brand is partnering with CASIS, Space Tango, and SpaceX to deliver barley seeds to orbit for two different experiments. The barley will stay in space for one month before returning for analyzing the effects of microgravity.

“Budweiser is always pushing the boundaries of innovation and we are inspired by the collective American Dream to get to Mars,” said Ricardo Marques, vice president, Budweiser. “We are excited to begin our research to brew beer for the red planet.”

One experiment will focus on exposing the barley seeds and the second will test germination. The cargo launch is set for December 4th.
