Bear Breaks into Colorado Home Twice! Locals Say He Was Just “Sniffing Out Snacks”
It’s not every day you get a midnight visitor... and then an encore performance. A Boulder, Colorado, woman says a black bear broke into her home twice early Wednesday morning, apparently unable to resist a return trip to the kitchen buffet.
First Break-In: The Midnight Snack Attack
The homeowner had already been dealing with the bear rummaging through her car for weeks. But around 1 a.m. Wednesday, things escalated when the furry bandit slid open the porch doors and strolled right inside. The two residents didn’t stick around for introductions—they crawled out a window, ran to their car, and called the police. Officers arrived, yelled at the bear (brave move, by the way), and it took off into the night.
Round Two: Breakfast for a Bear
Just when everyone thought the excitement was over, the bear came back a few hours later and tore through the kitchen like it owned the place. “The residents banged on the walls and screamed until the bear fled from the house for good.”
Bear-y Hungry Season
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office posted a video of the ordeal on Facebook, and it’s worth a watch if you need proof of this un-bear-lievable story. Colorado Parks and Wildlife says bears are extra active this time of year, packing on calories before winter hibernation.
If you live in bear country, CPW recommends following their BearWise basics—lock up trash, remove bird feeders, and definitely keep your snacks (and sliding doors) secure. Because apparently, even bears can’t resist a late-night fridge raid.
