FDA Recalls Crackers Sold At Florida Walmart, Target, And More

More than 15,000 cases of crackers sent out across the country are being recalled by the FDA after being found to contain small pieces of stainless steel wire.

The recall is classified as a "Class II" recall, meaning the product may have temporary or reversible health consequences. It was issued March 11th by the Food and Drug Administration.

The company Shearer's Foods, LLC has recalled their popular oyster crackers - which are packaged under multiple brand names.

According to them, the oyster crackers were distributed to Target, Walmart, and Giant Eagle stores in Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

The crackers were also sold as 20-pound bulk bags not meant for retail sale.
