Your Grill Brush Could Be Putting Metal In Your Food: Cuisinart Grill Brush Recall

Before you fire up the grill, you may want to check your grill brush.

Conair has recalled more Cuisinart wire grill brushes because tiny metal bristles can break off and get stuck on your grill or in your food.

The recall now covers about 3.6 million grill brushes.

Cuisinart Grill Brush Recall Grows To 3.6 Million Over Dangerous Bristles

If someone eats one of the tiny metal bristles, it can cause serious injuries. The bristles can get stuck in the throat or other parts of the body. Some people have needed medical treatment to remove them.

Conair says it has received at least 54 reports of bristles coming off the brushes. Three people swallowed bristles and needed medical care.

The recall includes 13 more brush models than the company recalled in July. The brushes have black plastic, stainless steel or wooden handles. Most have the word “Cuisinart” on the handle.

Have You Had The Brush For Over 6 Years?

There is one very important thing to know: Conair says any Cuisinart wire grill brush sold before 2020 is part of the recall, even if you cannot find the model number on the list.

The brushes were sold at stores including Walmart, Burlington, TJ Maxx and Ross. They were also sold online at Amazon and Cuisinart.com.

If you have one, stop using it right away. Conair is offering a full refund or a Cuisinart.com credit worth the refund plus 20%.

After asking for your refund, the company says to throw the brush away.
