New Quad Cities Nonprofit Launches Honor Flight for Local Law Enforcement
There's a brand-new nonprofit organization in the Quad Cities with a mission that's all about recognizing the men and women who have dedicated their lives to serving our communities.

Quad City Back the Blue Flight
It's called Quad City Back the Blue Flight, and the group is working to create a one-of-a-kind experience for local law enforcement officers by sending them on a special trip to Washington, D.C.

The organization hopes to provide active and retired officers from police departments throughout Scott and Rock Island Counties with the opportunity to visit the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and National Law Enforcement Museum, where they can honor fallen officers and reflect on their years of service.
The trip would be a one-day experience that begins with a charter flight out of the Quad City International Airport. Once in Washington, participants would visit several historic landmarks, including the National Police Memorial Wall, the U.S. Capitol, the National Spy Museum, and other notable sites.
One unique part of the program is that each flight will also include a family member of a local officer who was killed in the line of duty, ensuring their sacrifice is remembered as well.
What Is Their Mission?
Organizers say the mission goes beyond a single trip. They hope the program will help educate the public about challenges facing law enforcement today while strengthening support for officers throughout the Quad Cities.
The nonprofit plans to cover transportation, meals, and all trip-related expenses, meaning there is no cost for eligible officers to participate. Current and retired law enforcement officers who served in the Quad Cities area may apply.
Donate To The Organization
As a newly formed 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Quad City Back the Blue Flight is currently seeking donations and community support to help make its first flights a reality. Organizers say every contribution, big or small, will help honor local officers and continue the program for years to come.
