Toronto Electrical Workers Showered In Feces While Restoring Power To Apartment Complex
In a disturbing and disgusting incident, residents at a St. James Town apartment building in Toronto are appalled after learning that some individuals have been throwing feces at electrical contractors working to restore power to the building. The incident, which occurred at 77 Howard St., has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation.
Torontonians Outraged Over Disgusting Incident at St. James Town Apartment Building
The situation came to light last week through a letter sent to residents by the building’s management company, Wellesley-Parliament Square (WPSQ). The letter, which was subsequently shared on Reddit, detailed the unacceptable behavior faced by the electrical contractors who were there to restore power following last Tuesday’s historic rainstorm.
What Did The Letter Say?
“Dear residents, it has come to our attention that a small group of residents are repeatedly interfering, threatening, and/or harassing members of the electrical contracting team,” the letter reads. “Reports of unacceptable behavior include throwing human waste from upper-level balconies at workers below, aggressive language, and/or hostile interactions. These actions are disrupting efforts to repair the building and will only serve to prolong the restoration effort,” it continued.
WPSQ emphasized that the professionals had been working tirelessly since Tuesday to restore power to the affected units. The letter expressed bewilderment at why anyone would want to interfere with these critical efforts and cause additional delays, especially during an already challenging situation. The management company assured residents that most would be shocked to learn of such behavior and stressed the importance of stopping these actions immediately.
How Did Management Respond To This Poop Flinging?
In response to the incidents, the management team hired additional security staff to protect the workers and informed Toronto police of the situation. Danny Roth, spokesperson for WPSQ, confirmed that the letter had been sent out to tenants and stated that the issue has since been resolved. He noted that while only a small percentage of residents were involved, the notice was sent building-wide to ensure awareness and cooperation.
“It was an incident that was dealt with quite effectively between management and residents. Only a small percentage of residents was worthy of a notice that went out building-wide, but our tenants, the vast majority of our tenants, have been quite good through this very difficult episode,” Roth told Now Toronto on Wednesday. “They’ve been patient and cooperative, and I think they recognize the daily progress that was being made. Power has been fully restored to all units,” he continued.

What Did The Police Say About The Incident?
Despite the resolution, Toronto police stated they did not have any official records of the incident as of their latest statement to Now Toronto on Wednesday. This has led to further calls from residents for a thorough investigation and appropriate action against those responsible.
Now Let's Hear From The People on Reddit
The incident has sparked significant discussion on social media, with many Reddit users expressing their shock and disappointment. One user, who claims to live in the building, apologized to the crews working diligently to restore power and praised the management for their handling of the situation. Others were astounded by the behavior, questioning the motives and sanity behind such extreme actions.
“Who throws their own s**t?!? Wtf is wrong with people…” one user exclaimed. “I think flinging human waste is beyond ‘asking you to stop’ and ‘additional security measures’.. isn’t spitting on people and throwing feces considered a serious form of assault on par with throwing punches? They need a TPS investigation and charge for the psycho throwing poop. Angry or not, that is not normal behavior,” another user argued. “How is that not assault? Jesus Christ, get those people, so the contractors can be safe to fix the issue. Obviously, they are under a lot of pressure, and now that is a completely unsafe working condition,” another commented.
