These Are The Three New Laws Coming To Tennessee January 1st
A new year is here, and with that brings some new resolutions - both for our personal lives, but also legislative resolutions.
Two of the new laws will protect minors on the internet by tightening up restriction on social media accounts and access to adult content. The measures will require social media platforms to obtain parental consent for children under the age of 18 to make accounts.
Amongst the new laws were others that will require extra training for those who will be serving alcohol, and the allowance of 'permissive virtual reality verification' for alcohol purchases as well as airports.
Three New Laws To Be Sure To Read Up On:
HB 1814: A new law will require landlords to tell potential tenants the name and addresses of property management agencies that operate homes. Tenants also must get the names and addresses of owners of the properties or people authorized to act on their behalf. Tenants must receive contact for maintenance services or an online portal where they can communicate with their landlord.
SB 1919: State lawmakers passed a law that requires health insurance companies that offer coverage for prescription contraceptives to provide coverage for a year's worth of medicine in one refill.
SB 2307: State lawmakers unanimously decided to pass a law that effectively makes sure hydrogen Is taxed the same way as other fuels, which will see an increase in revenue for the General Fund and Highway Fund.
