Surveillance footage obtained by News 9 Investigates shows the shocking moment when two Hillsborough County dispatchers stopped a man wearing only a Speedo and a hat from forcing his way into the sheriff’s office.

Officials said 50-year-old Cory Nickerson of Goffstown has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including assault, criminal threatening, and false imprisonment, following the August 9 incident.

Attempted Break-In Captured on Camera

The video shows Nickerson interacting with a dispatcher in the vestibule of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office before allegedly forcing his way through a secured door. Police said he entered by following an employee inside, then attacked two dispatchers, seriously injuring one before fleeing and leading officers on a short chase.

Dispatchers Fought Back

Footage shows one dispatcher physically pushing Nickerson out the door as he resists. Hillsborough County Sheriff Brian Newcomb praised the dispatchers’ courage, saying,
“Typically, they’re here rendering assistance over the phone and radio for people who call 911 — and they found themselves needing help here.”

Newcomb added that the employees suffered both physical and emotional trauma from the “random attack.”
“Luckily, they’re safe, and we’re happy they’re safe. But there are lasting effects to this, as they sustained serious bodily injury and emotional damage,” he said.

Sheriff: “It’s Never Happened Before”

Sheriff Newcomb said that in his 24 years with the department, he has never seen anything like it.
“It hasn’t happened in my 24 years here, and hopefully it never happens again,” he said.

Nickerson remains in custody as the case moves forward.
