Bettendorf is doing something fun. They’re letting us name their new snowplows.

The Public Works team is adding two brand-new plows to the fleet for 2026, and they want the community to help give them some personality. If you’ve got a clever, punny, or just plain awesome idea, you should definitely jump in.

How To Submit A Name

Submissions: You can submit your name ideas starting now, but you have to get them in by Thursday, April 23 at noon.

The Vote: On Friday, April 24, the city is going to put up a poll so everyone can vote on their favorite names from the ones submitted.

The Reveal: They’ll announce the two winning names at Public Works Day, which is happening on Saturday, May 16 (from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Public Works Annex).

The event itself sounds like a blast, too. Free burgers, hot dogs, and ice cream, plus they’re doing blade painting and giving away stuff like free bus passes and compost.
