Lori McFate ’94 and ’08 (MOL) of Bettendorf received a lifesaving bone marrow transplant from Michael Henkel, of Marl, Germany in 2006. “We have perfectly matching DNA; we had a perfect first-meeting, and now we have a perfect life-long connection,” says Lori.
Now in a collaborative effort, Lori and St. Ambrose University have organized a bone marrow donor drive to pay it forward. Register as a bone marrow donor and you could be the one match able to save the life of a blood cancer patient.
