RECAP: The Beer Battle On The Belle

The second annual Beer Battle on The Belle floated up and down the Mississippi River this weekend, providing a boozy good time.

Over 400 beer drinkers and hellraisers boarded the Celebration Belle in Moline, and sampled some of the beers from the area's favorite breweries:

• Geneseo Brewing Company
• Twin Span Brewing
• Nerdspeak Brewery
• Reserve Artisan Ales
• Radicle Effect Brewerks
• Front Street Brewery
• Bent River Brewing Co.
• Midwest Ale Works
• Peace Tree Brewing Co.
• Contrary Brewing Co.
• Mugz
• Unpossible Mead Inc.
• Big Grove Brewery

BUT, only one of those breweries could take home the coveted trophy and $1000 worth of advertising with their favorite radio station.

The winner this year, was Unpossible Mead from Dwight, Illinois.

It was a great year, and most kept their cool - only ONE person tried to drive the boat. Just because you buy a captains hat in the gift shop doesn't mean you can just go wherever you want.
