A Portland woman is facing multiple charges after authorities say she fired shots into a home being rented as an Airbnb.

Police Respond to Late-Night 911 Call

Officers were called to the 4000 block of North Haight Avenue on Thursday evening after a man reported hearing breaking glass and loud noises outside. According to court documents, the caller told dispatchers that a woman shouted “Mikey,” threw a brick through his kitchen window, and left him hiding in the bathroom for safety.

Gunfire and Strange Behavior Reported

When police arrived, they heard two gunshots and saw a woman leaving the scene. Officers ordered her to stop, but she ignored commands until she was taken to the ground. Prosecutors say body camera footage shows the woman dropping a .44 caliber revolver, which contained three live rounds and two spent shell casings.

Investigators later found two bullet holes inside the duplex—one in a wall and another in a door—as well as a broken window caused by a cement squirrel statue that appeared to have been thrown inside. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Raie McGinnis, reportedly told officers the property owner was a “galactic spy.” Police also noted cuts on her shoulder, suggesting she entered the basement through a broken window.

Neighbors Witnessed Incident

Neighbors told police they saw McGinnis in the area, heard glass breaking, and later noticed her carrying a handgun while walking with what they described as a “smirk.”

Facing Multiple Charges

McGinnis was arraigned Friday and is being held on $100,000 bail. She faces six counts of burglary, three counts of reckless endangerment, and several other charges. Court records show she has no prior criminal history. It is not yet known whether she had any connection to the duplex owner.
