If you’re a Cyclone fan, you’re in the wrong place! This one’s for all the Hawkeye lovers!

We recalled the time our very own Hairball decided he wanted to hit up a local bar to catch the Iowa Hawkeye football game. He’d never done this before and wasn’t sure which places in the area had the best game day atmosphere. So, naturally, we turned to our trusty listeners and asked, “Where’s the best place to watch Iowa football?”

We were blown away by the response—over 200 people chimed in. Sure, we got a few sarcastic replies like “the bathroom” and “my basement,” but the rest of the responses were gold. After sifting through them all, Hairball finally settled on Public House to watch the game, and boy, was it an experience.

Here’s what Hairball had to say:
"I went to Publics for a Hawkeye game and it was PACKED! Before the game started, they blasted 'Back in Black' (the walkout song), and a couple of bartenders ran around with Iowa flags for the whole song, screaming, and getting everyone hyped up. Then, after the first quarter, they did the I-O-W-A flags in the corners of the bar, just like during pre-game. It was awesome!"

Hairball’s review has us all fired up for the next game. So, if you’re looking for the ultimate Iowa game day experience, check out these 15 top spots around the Quad Cities to cheer on the Hawkeyes:
