Look, I'm not going to tell you how to spend your money. But I will say this: If you're going to spend so much on a car that you're afraid to ever drive it, then maybe there's a better place to use your life savings.

A new study looked at which cars people put the most miles on, and which cars people put the fewest miles on. And the cars people rarely drive are basically all expensive sports cars.

People with Corvettes drive less than 5,000 miles a year, which is around 60% less than average. People with Porsche 911s also drive less than 5,000 miles a year.

People with Mercedes SL-Class convertibles, Mazda MX-5 Miatas, BMW 6 Series, and Ford Mustangs also all drive way fewer miles than the average person.

What cars do people drive a lot? Big SUVs and minivans. People with Chevy Suburbans average over 14,000 miles a year, which is 25% above average. Drivers with GMC Yukons, Chevy Tahoes, Toyota Sequoias, Honda Odysseys and Pilots, and Cadillac Escalades also average over 13,000 miles a year.
