North Carolina Chains That Are Or Have Closed Locations in 2025

From retail to restaurants, major chains have been hitting all kinds of snags the past few years, and some aren't surviving all that well.

First, it was COVID, then costs rose and continue to rise even five years later, employees leave for higher pay at other jobs, and material costs just continue to go up.

Some chains, like Advanced Auto Parts and Dollar General, are both closing and opening locations in states as they're trying to find new approaches to bring traffic through the door. Unfortunately, the closings are outnumbering the openings.

Other chains have closed down for good. Party City is gone, Joann Fabrics is in the process of closing down now.

Here are the ones we loved but lost in 2025.
